Production Assistant
Specializing in feature film visual effects and animation for international and local producers, Toronto based digital studio, Mr. X Inc. is comprised of a unique and gifted team of artists, filmmakers and programmers devoted to the art, craft and technology of visual story-telling. Mr. X is looking for a highly motivated Production Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Research stock footage, movie reference, and other elements required for visual effects work
- Operate and maintain video decks and supporting equipment
- Editorial support - input/output from Avid Express and/or Final Cut Pro
- Support for delivery of visual effects shots, including but not limited to: creating quicktimes, mastering and dubbing of video material, digital file wrangling for film outs and final deliveries
- Assisting with the daily operations of the office, including receiving and administering incoming phone calls, accepting and sending courier packages, maintaining tape tracking inventory
- Performing general administrative duties, including photocopying and faxing
- Assisting the production department by providing data entry support to the visual effects shots databases

Qualifications:
- A passion for film
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, willingness and ability to learn new skills & technologies
- Excellent time-management, the ability to work well under pressure and be able to manage and meet multiple critical deadlines daily and effectively
- Candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced creative team environment
- Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Access, Outlook
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Professional and friendly phone manner
- Familiarity with any of the following would be a definite asset: Photoshop, - Final Cut, Avid, 2D or 3D software packages.
- On-set experience a plus.
