full time Graphic Designer / Animator

at DMI Productions in London

SALARY: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, pro rata
TERM: 12 month fixed term contract (subject to trial)
OFFICE LOCATION: Ashford, Middlesex (near Shepperton Studios)

Could it really be true? Really, really? Seems it is. Kat Soper, our wonderful Head of Graphics, is leaving us in January to get hitched and go home to New Zealand… And while it’s G’day from her, that does mean you can now apply for a job!

AIMS OF THE JOB:

1. Provide our clients with outstanding design and animation, including still, 2D & 3D work*.
2. Help maintain a consistent brand image for DMI by creating and managing ‘logo doodles’, web content, printed matter, video inserts and so on…
3. Develop and grow the graphics business, allowing us to compete in the arenas of corporate, broadcast and film animation. This will include title sequences, branding, idents, etc.
4. Constantly offer unrivalled levels of service to clients, suppliers and fellow staff members
5. Embody DMI’s ethos of being fun, friendly and passionate

*Outstanding in a good way, obviously.

KEY SKILLS:

As a pre requisite of the job, the Graphic Designer / Animator will:

• Have at least 3 years experience in Broadcast, Corporate and Broadcast Commercials
• Have comprehensive, fast Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop skills
• 3D skills essential (Autodesk 3D Studio Max preferable)
• Have a strong technical knowledge of the post production process, working in HD / SD formats & within broadcast delivery specification parameters
• Demonstrate an ability to visualize the accomplishment of tasks
• Show that they can contribute ideas that grow the department within a two month period
• Demonstrate an excellent command of both written and spoken English in regard to the highest standards of client communication and service

Additional skills

• Show a strong capacity for design and be able to draw a range of styles freehand
• Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign skills a distinct advantage
• Adobe Flash and Adobe Dreamweaver skills, also a bonus
• A high level of PC literacy with a good understanding of file management & organisation
• Microsoft Office to a high standard
• Familiarity with video editing software and basic editing skills a distinct advantage
• Relevant experience in branding design would help
• Ability to respect confidentiality of DMI & its clients at all times
• Adapt to changing deadlines with professionalism and flexibility
• Demonstrate respect for attentiveness to detail
• Resilience, stamina and good humour to sustain performance when under pressure from a
high volume of work and conflicting priorities
• Strong time and resource management skills
• Ability to prioritize his / her workload and the workload of others
• Consistency with regards to professional integrity and honesty
• Have oodles of creative flair!
