To capture the spirit of the to-be hotel ‘The Cove Atlantis‘, Exopolis produced a promotional DVD that certainly creates a vibe of peaceful tranquility leading to fun in the sun. The illustrative jellyfish art seems to capture my attention; truly Exopolis-style! Generally lifestyle photography is a little too insignificant to me, but for this piece it works. See for yourself, could give some a good insight on how to tackle a promo-DVD.
btw what do you guys think of the revamped site image? I had personally grown a fondness for the old ray-of-light under the ocean image, I’m sad to see it go.

Stardust: Non-Native Species
Promoting California Cleanup Day, Stardust was recetly called upon to produced a :30 spot entitled “Non-Native Species”. The character CigEgret makes it’s comeback from last year’s Cannes Advertising award-winning campaign by Goodby Silverstein & Partners. Visually the spot takes every aspect on screen and alters it’s health - so to speak.

PikaPika: In Los Angeles
In the darkness of the night lies a gathering of light-artists that turn high exposure photography into animated form. Nothing is forgotten in their creativity - bouncing balls, travelling ghosts to even urinating men! These guys (who are continously expanding) work 3 hours during the night with an 8-10 second exposure. I would love to explain more about it but I cant read the descriptions. Alot of fun!

To me, DVD menu’s are an art form of their own; it involves clever transitions and frustrating warnings, yet some seem to ready their eyes on the first sight of the ‘play movie’ button. Johnason Lo has recently completed by Sony Entertainment for Wang Lee Hom.
“The concept of his concert centered on the Chinese Dragon as the name of his album was Heroes of Earth. My concept was to merge his signature with the Chinese dragon
Don’t expect too much, it’s only 15 seconds short, but I think it has an appealing oriental visual style and fluid camera work that could be inspiration to some of you.
Is it possible for these guys to do ONE thing that doesn’t amaze the hell out of us?
“Psyop takes an imaginative journey with Wieden & Kennedy inside a Coke machine in “Happiness Factory,” a new spot for the soft drink’s latest campaign, “The Coke Side of Life.” The studio designed and animated the spot which begins airing today. Human created the music.”

With two modelers on the team they’ve created trees like the one used with train-tracks which adds a realistic touch. All this is a technique thats been attempted (McDonald’s TVSpot, Aussie only I think), but nothing I’ve seen is on such grand scale as this.
Enjoy. I’d love to see a making-of video.

Alright, suprisingly from all the crazy amounts of workload I’ve managed to fit a few moments - I thought this had to be seen!
You might have seen Bulldog and Demon posted here before. Shilo recently worked with creative agency ATTIK for this addition to the Scion family of visually driven TV Spots. Shadow (which just aired yesterday) is 15 seconds longer than it’s previous counterparts and doesn’t fail to deliver.
“A full ninety percent of the spot is entirely computer generated and the remaining scenes contain numerous CG elements.” As well as mixtures of photography and hand-painted textures.
Watch this at least twice as you might have missed things like I have : )
I wont talk too much because theres a mass of info right here
And some 300dpi screengrabs which is something more studios should start doing.
